RCMM PROFILE

Chartered on January 10, 1989, the Rotary Club of Makati Metro has established itself as a mature club that can be relied upon to deliver excellent results in all avenues of Rotary service. Throughout all its 21 years of extraordinary service to the community and the lively fellowship among its members, RCMM continues to retain its distinct character of being "Number 1 in quality membership".

PROJECTS

The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS)

Launched on September 12, 1994, TOPS continues to be the flagship project of RCMM. Recognizing Rotary's Object "to encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions", TOPS primarily aims to honor the outstanding achievements of the men and women of the military and to show the civilian sector's appreciation and gratitude for their selfless sacrifices to help build a free, fair and affluent society. Having partnered with the Metrobank Foundation in the last 10 years, TOPS has proven to be an effective avenue to convey to the public the stories of heroism and dedication to duty of the Filipino soldiers. TOPS has been accorded several recognitions from reputable organizations, among which include the Anvil Award of Excellence and Quill Awards of Merit and Excellence and the Gawad Oscar Florendo.

The School of Joy

With generous financial assistance from an Italian Foundation, RCMM was able to construct 2 container van-type classrooms and donate books and school materials for impoverished children of the School of Joy near the former Smokey Mountain in Tondo, Manila. Currently, RCMM is assisting the San Pablo Apostol Parish in the construction of a new School of Joy in a 1.5 hectare property donated by the Ayala Land, Inc. in another location in Tondo, Manila.
